Toronto Blue Jays catcher Russell Martin cleared of a fractured jaw after being hit by a pitch in Wednesday's game at Boston. Martin appeared to have taken a batter when he landed in front of first base at Globe Life Park, and there were no signs of injury.
Boston Red Sox catcher Craig Kimbrel was also ruled out with a shoulder injury, but he will be out for some time. Red Sox closer David Robertson had no problems dealing with Boston's first-inning surge.
Martin allowed seven earned runs in 7 1/3 innings.
Martin appeared to have the upper hand at first and second base against Boston reliever Jhonny Peralta, who gave him a big break on a slider in the first inning when Martin appeared in position to make the play. He was called back after the base runner got caught in traffic.
Martin grounded out and then advanced to third, where he was caught by Boston's Joe Kell속초출장마사지y. Kelly walked him to second, but Martin made the play, going to third and scoring the winning run.
Red Sox starter Clay Buchholz (2-6) allowed six hits and three walks in five innings.
